According to the Americans from Chevrolet, the two previous Transformers films helped the current Camaro to become the best-selling sports car in the America for two consecutive years, therefore, there are all the reasons to take advantage of the third movie and promote the model in question even more.

Dark of the Moon is the name of the third Transformers movie and Chevrolet decided to prepare the Transformers Special Edition for the current Camaro.

The new Dark of the Moon film will have the worldwide premiere Wednesday but the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition will be available for order in July, hitting the U.S. dealerships in September. Being based on the Autobot "Bumblebee" character, the new special edition will be available for the 2LT and 2SS Camaro versions and comes at a price of around $3,000. At the exterior, the 2012 Camaro Transformers gets the Rally Yellow paint job alongside black stripes on the hood, roof and boot, a new rear spoiler and other minor tweaks over the standard offering of the RS package.

Moreover, the aesthetic package is completed by a set of 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with high-performance tires while 21-inch alloys in black finish are available as optional. Chevrolet offers some interior enhancements too, from the list we can note the Autobot Shield logos placed on the center console lid and headrests but also the new black leather upholstery with yellow stitching. The Transformers franchise has helped introduce Camaro – and Chevrolet – to a whole new generation of fans," said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. "Its role in the films helped make the Camaro the best-selling sports car in America and one of the best-known cars of any kind around the world."

According to Chevrolet, the new Camaro Convertible introduced this year helped the American model to be sold in 40,275 units, surpassing the Mustang sales of 30,206 vehicles. Jeep released all the important details of the new Grand Cherokee, the version which enters the UK market to be more precise. From the beginning we have to tell you that the American manufacturer decided to provide a single engine choice for the British market, something which does not sound too good indeed.

However, the good news is that they finally managed to release the right-hand drive version for the UK market, a model which comes with two trim levels, Limited and Overland to be more precise.

As mentioned above, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee enters the UK market with a single engine option, a 3.0-liter CRD common-rail unit able to return a fuel consumption of only 6 liters/100 km and a driving range of 1,125 km per fuel tank. According to these figures, it seems that the Americans from Jeep managed to develop a very efficient SUV mainly considering that the models within this segment are not very eco-friendly and fuel-efficient.

Even the fuel economy is undoubtedly a strong point, we forgot to mention that the V6 turbo diesel unit is able to produce 237 horsepower which combined with the average fuel consumption equals a very good choice. Moving to the equipment and pricing, the first package is called Limited and brings as standard the Quadra-Trac II 4WD system, bi-xenon headlamps, Selec-Terrain system, Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist but also 18-inch alloy wheels, leather heated seats and a 9-speaker Alpine surround sound system.

This version comes with a starting price of £36,795 while the price can rise by adding some optionals such as the 20-inch alloy wheels with 265/70 R20 performance tires, Deep-tint sunscreen glass or CommandView panoramic sunroof.

If this is still not enough for your needs, you can opt for the Overland package which brings performance brakes with sports suspension, heated steering wheel, Quadra-Lift air suspension, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Premium Nappa leather seats. The starting price for the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland is £43,995 but you really get an impressive bunch of features for the buck.

About 11 years ago, most of the world’s petrolheads were appalled at the idea of Porsche making a small roadster, something they called the Boxster.

Here we are, several years later and despite the many times it proved itself the Porsche Boxster still isn’t easily welcomed to the world.

That doesn’t seem to have phased the Germans at all, mostly because rumor has it that they are about to make a new model along the lines of the Boxster only smaller and less powerful.

Unlike the Boxster however, the new baby Porsche could have even more problems from the start of its life. First of all, these rumors claim that the chassis would be borrowed from a Volkswagen Concept, the Bluesport.

While the Bluesport is quite the interesting looking car, no Porsche enthusiast or general petrolhead will be pleased with a Porsche that borrows parts from VW. It happened before with the Porsche 924 and things aren’t likely to change very soon.

Continuing along the line of hurdles for the new Baby Porsche to overcome, VW is still to decide on whether or not they will produce the Audi R4. After all, it would be troublesome for the same company to have two models locked in rivalry.

This, believe it or not would hurt Porsche the most. People are more likely to want a car that is smaller and better looking than an Audi TT as opposed to a Porsche that is slower than a Boxster.

Probably the final nail in the coffin of a Baby Boxster is that there’s a good chance of it being called the 550. For those of you who don’t recall, the Porsche 550 was a very small racer and road going car that hasn’t really gone down well in history.

One of the Porsche 550 racers was bought by beloved actor James Dean, who nicknamed it “Little Bastard”. Shortly after, the “Little Bastard” Porsche 550 replied by killing James Dean in a horrific accident.

After all this, let’s consider history as a lesson learned and that Porsche will decide to make it and for it to ensure the heritage is done away with in light of a much better level quality and safety.

In order to keep pricing and weight down, Porsche will most likely use a manual folding roof, a new 1.6 liter flat four and a manual gearbox as standard. The PDK setup is optional and some may find it helpful in dealing with 200 horsepower in a car that weighs less than 2.600 pounds.

The Brits will be Brits, that’s the best way of describing how Rolls Royce are going to participate in the Masterpiece London 2011 exhibit with one of their finest models.

In the interest of overkill maintaining brand prestige, Rolls Royce is making the Phantom Drophead they’re going to show off a unique one.

The key feature in this particular version of the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead is bespoke. Nearly every detail added to make it unique is bespoke.

Ever since we’ve known them, Rolls Royce have been bragging on about how customers can pick between 44.000 shades of paint when ordering a vehicle from them.

Despite this and the countless years of sales (low volume ones admittedly) this Phantom Drophead is the first and only one in the company’s history to be finished in the color we see here, a shade name Mazarine Blue.

Lovely as the color may be, it is only done justice when stepping inside the huge convertible. This is where Rolls Royce opted for a finish in Seashell with Navy Blue contrasting floor and door panels.

In short, once you add the famous double R logos that are embroidered in the headrests, the white dials and the rest of those bespoke details Rolls Royce made sure are found inside this Phantom Drophead you pretty much have one of the most sumptuous interiors ever made.

Weirdly, even for a company as careful with details as Rolls Royce, the list of goodies developed especially for Masterpiece London 2011 doesn’t end there.

Of all the things to consider newsworthy about a car, Rolls Royce made the glove compartment a thing of beauty here. This is where you’ll find an integrated Asprey jewelery case and the entire thing is covered in hide of softest grade-one suede.

In order to make it look and fit properly it is cut into 15 separate pieces all of which are carefully sewn by hand which is why this component alone takes two days to complete.

Need more Rolls Royce overkill than that? Ok then, the boot of this Phantom Drophead comes full of luggage that was tailored to fit it along with the overall image of the car.

Really now, at this point when Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO Rolls-Royce Motor Cars steps onto the stage at the unveiling and says he and his company are both very proud of their achievement instead of making snide remarks, the audience simply claps.
