It’s been a long time since we lastly talked about a tuning package created for a model bearing Jaguar’s badge but today we have the opportunity to present a new styling kit, this time developed by the Japanese specialists from Wald International. The tuning house decided that it is the right time to revise the Jaguar XJ X350 and this is how the Black Bison Edition has been created.

As you observe from the photos, this tuning package is dedicated to the previous Jaguar XJ generation but this is only an insignificant information because they did a good job and managed to refresh the British model even the new generation is already out.

In terms of performance tweaks, the Japanese specialists operated no modifications therefore, you get no extra power from the previous generation Jaguar XJ. However, this is not an issue, the main preoccupation of the tuners being to make the model attractive again with some fine improvements.

In this purpose, they added a new front bumper along a rear spoiler, boot lid and roof spoiler, new side mirrors with LED lights and a new set of side skirts. The Jaguar XJ X350 Black Bison Edition also benefits from 21-inch Renovatio R12 wheels fitted with 255/30R21 (front) and 295/25R21 (rear) tires. Wald International included a DTM TW240 sports muffler to this package for a better sound of the engine.

At the interior, the Japanese tuning house prepared a leather upholstery for the seats, Wald International logos, custom floor mats and some aluminum trim. Pricing for this tuning kit is still a mystery but if you own one of these you can surely contact the Japanese tuner for further information.

Anderson Germany unveils Maserati Gran Turismo S Superior Black Edition

The German tuning house decided to create a tuning kit for the current Maserati Gran Turismo S, a package called Superior Black Edition which brings both aesthetic and performance upgrades for the Italian supercar. The performance tweaks are not very impressive but the styling improvements significantly increase the car’s appearance and make it more attractive if it hasn’t been yet.

According to the official details, Anderson Germany revised the 4.7-liter V8 unit which fits the Italian model in order to deliver 492 horsepower. This means that you get 52 horses in addition over the standard model, extra power which will slightly improve the acceleration time, official figures being not available yet.

Other features of the new Superior Black Edition package include a stainless-steel exhaust system for a special engine sound along a high performance suspension able to lower the ground clearance of the model. On the other hand, the styling tweaks are more visible and they manage to bring a fresh air along with a more aggressive look.

The main feature of the aesthetic improvements is the matt black exterior finish along the 21-inch alloy wheels fitted with 265 (front) and 295 (rear) tires.

The exterior also benefits from some glossy black trim, a new bonnet with air intake, front and rear aprons, side air inlets and a tailgate. All of these components are made of lightweight carbon fiber and match perfectly the black body finish and the wheels.

The interior of the Maserati Gran Turismo S could not be ignored, therefore, Anderson Germany prepared some refinements including new black leather and alcantara upholstery, a new infotainment system, red stitching and also carbon fiber trim.

Exceptions to MPVs being boring exist, most of them happen when instead of getting a daily chore of ferrying loud kids, they act as a bus for more or less loud business executives.

It seems that the people behind this new update and design aren’t really the Germans at Mercedes but the Italians which work for their new design center.

At this Mercedes-Benz approved Advanced Design Studio in Como, Italy is where the people working for it decided to take the small MPV market forward by a few classes.

The interior design of the new Mercedes B-Class: Taking quality to a whole new level

- High standards for materials, image and quality
- Emotional design idiom with sporty qualities

High-quality materials and superbly finished surfaces, fine details, precise workmanship and a new spaciousness – the interior of the B-Class raises the bar in the compact car segment.

Many of the details or elements had previously been the sole preserve of higher-end vehicle segments and correspond to the new Mercedes-Benz design philosophy in terms of image and quality. For example, the dashboard may be covered with stitched ARTICO man-made leather.

The first thing that strikes you when looking at the vehicle's interior is the large, three-dimensional decorative element spanning the entire dashboard. This is available in four variants covering a broad spectrum including modern, sporty and classic. What all of these versions share is a high perceived quality that, in addition to the visual and haptic experience, also includes ease of care and a long useful life.

With this high-quality overall concept and a harmonious balance between the familiar, new and progressive, the interior of the B-Class reflects the latest findings in the field of perceptual psychology made by Daimler AG's Customer Research Center (CRC).

The three large circular vents in the centre of the dashboard and their unique grilles, in the style of the sporty Mercedes-Benz model ranges, add to the design idiom of the interior.

Above the vents is the high quality screen, which is available in two sizes. With its first-class design (including an ornamental frame with galvanised surface contrasting with the piano black of the front panel) and sleek dimensions, the colour display (TFT) is a real gem in the cockpit.

The new three-spoke steering wheel, used for example in the CLS, including an insert in the centre spoke that is always finished in silver chrome, an instrument cluster with four round, analogue displays and hanging needles in the 6 o'clock position and seats with contrasting stitching reinforce the car's sporty image.

The influence of the Advanced Design Studio in Como is also reflected in the interior design of the new B-Class. One example is the free-floating, streamlined screen in the new Mercedes B-Class. The fact that the B-Class takes quality in the compact class to a whole new level is also thanks to a new approach by Mercedes-Benz that first originated in Como. Following the "appreciation model", designers can implement their ideal concepts then look for a way to transfer these ideas to series production. This produces a harmonious and high-quality end result.

The new B-Class will be making its international debut at the IAA in Frankfurt (13th to 25th September 2011). It will then be rolled out to European dealerships in November 2011.
