A leaked imagine ended up stirring quite a few souls that belong to those who have heads of petrol. It’s part of a rumor regarding Lamborghini’s newest creation, the Aventador.

It seems like the hot headed Italians are working on something very special for the bloodlines of the big V12 supercar, it should be an incredible speed machine if the rumor is right.

How would a Lamborghini Aventador sound? Great, right? How about one which can go all the way up to 250 or so miles per hour? We all know it’s worth the interest to say the least.

Given how Lamborghini hasn’t told us anything of the likes about the future versions and record attempts they plan to do with the Aventador, a rumor like this seems difficult to prove.

Then again, there’s very little rumors that turn out to be true so let’s enjoy this one while we can. It all started with a camouflaged and stealth Lamborghini Aventador being spotted with a very special set of wheels.

That camouflage hides everything about the new aerodynamic package the Aventador would need, the longer ratio gearbox and re-tuned engine would also be difficult to spot but that set of wheels tells more of a story than you’d imagine.

It’s because the wheels weren’t exactly your average sort, they were the kind one would find on the recently defunct Bugatty Veyron.

Given how those particular wheels and tires are pretty much the most heavily engineered ones around and unique ones in their ability to go well over 250 mph it’s most likely that the Lamborghini Aventador we have in the image below isn’t just the kitschy attempt from your regular showoff rich folk.

As a standard car, the Lamborghini Aventadord LP700-4 is powered by a 6.5 liter naturally V12 engine that 700 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque.

This power is channeled towards the all wheel drive system using a seven-speed transmission with incredible new technology for Lamborghini.

Interestingly enough, it’s not exactly enough to hit the 250 mph that Lamborghini’s Aventador may be targeting. Predictions call for around 1000 horsepower’s worth of performance upgrades.

The last part of the rumor is in how the obviously re-engineered exhaust system may equate to some sort of turbocharger system being used to shake off the difference in power at the moment.

Between this rumored creation from Lamborghini and the recently unveiled SSC Tuatara, it could make for some interesting speed records happening in 2012 as an attempt to beat up the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

After a few issues with the French Government, Renault found themselves in the process of making more luxury cars. For an uncommon idea, it’s starting to look like inspiration could be coming from South Korea.

Going from making cheap hatchbacks to mid-level and luxury cars is something the Koreans have been doing brilliantly lately so Renault could learn quite a lot from their Samsung counterpart.

This is because Renault Samsung has jut finalized their flagship SM7′s unveiling and we’re flooded with details on the spec sheet this car comes with.

First things first, unlike neither Korean or French cars of recent, it sports a face that’s really appropriate for this segment of the market.

Dignified, imposing, presentable and generally looking like the sort of car that genuinely looks like it would feel at home in the business parks of the modern world.

Renault Samsung SM7

The new Renault Samsung SM7 even does a great job of hiding its 70 mm increased dimensions and improved interior on top of the previous seven year old previous vehicle.

Under the bonnet, there’s a choice between two engines, one’s a 2.5 liter V6 and a larger 3.5 liter unit and both are connected to the same six speed automatic gearbox.

When it gets down to the nutty stuff, the 2.5 delivers 190 horsepower, 179 lb-ft of torque and a combined fuel economy of 26.1 mpg US, whearas the 3.5 liter unit has 258 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque and 22.6 mpg on the US cycle.

Both fuel economy figures stand for the combined cycle of testing although it’s not exactly the same system we’re all used with.

Even though the interior is of massive importance in this segment of the market Renault Samsung isn’t exactly ready to share the SM7′s details on this department.

Renault Samsung Motors CEO Jean-Marie Hurtiger made a very important point of how it’s part of the future, it will provide the ultimate motoring experience and it should be of radical effect on the big saloon car market.

This could be some sort of change in the way we perceive luxury and given the price Renault Samsung charges for the SM7 in Korea that could make for quite the interesting situation.

Koreans will be able to get the Renault Samsung SM7 for sums ranging between 30 and 39 million Korean won, that’s the equivalent of $28.000 and $36.600 at today’s exchange rates.

The Americans from General Motors proudly announced that they just outsold the rivals from Toyota taking the lead of the automotive world. The first six months of this year brought GM increased sales which helped the company became the world’s biggest automaker with 4,536 million units sold between January 1st and June 30th.

Comparing to the same period of 2010, General Motors managed to increase the sales by 8,9% while the earthquake which hit Japan in March has seriously shaken Toyota’s sales, the Japanese company descending all the way to the third place.

However, between General Motors and Toyota is Volkswagen AG, the German group ranking on the second place with total figures of 4,13 for the first half of 2011. As mentioned above, the third place is occupied by Toyota, the Japanese company registering sales of 3,37 million units worldwide, with 23% less compared to the same period of 2010.

They already have a backup solution planning to produce around 350,000 vehicles in addition starting this fall in order to balance the production rate which encountered difficulties due to the major earthquake. Toyota also announced that the production recovered to about 90% of its initial rate before the earthquake.

“Even if Toyota recovers production, it will take another few more months for sales to actually recover” as it takes time to deliver vehicles to dealers, said Takeshi Miyao, an analyst at consulting company Carnorama in Tokyo.

General Motors

It remains to be seen if the Japanese people from Toyota will be able to recover the lost ground and take the leading back from the American group. The other brands of the group such as Lexus, Hino and Daihatsu could have the decisive word until Toyota will return to the normal production rate.

According to the first predictions, there are not too many chances for the Japanese company to climb in the standings this year but starting 2012 they will undoubtedly be back in the game.
